A happy New Year to all. The first month of 2026 brings some new releases from Rumney Models.
All items are 4mm scale and are suitable for OO, EM and P4 except where stated.
3D Printed GWR Springs and Axleboxes
In hindsight, a somewhat mammoth task to produce a range of GWR OK type axleboxes and springs for wagons (Various Codes – £4 for a set of 4). Aside from the OKF axlebox and 4 leaf wagon spring combination which was used on many wagons the others are a real mix of components. There are 3’6” and 4’6” spring lengths, small (8”x4”) and large (8”x4 ½”) OK boxes with three types of oil pot (as well as the aforementioned OKF and also the RCH HD box for Mink Gs), short and long J hangers, swing links and T brackets, two types of wagon spring seats, 3’1” and 3’7” diameter wheels and of course, different numbers of springs depending on the weight, etc of the wagon. There are 14 different combinations in the initial release. So much for GWR standardisation, that obviously came later…
Spring and axlebox are printed as one part and the axleboxes come slotted for sprung underframes. J-hangers have links at the top to the springs to add structure and therefore strength. They are hopelessly fragile without. The types currently produced cover the following diagrams, I’m sure many will have alternative applications.
AA.3, AA.13, AA.15, G.24 & G.25, J.12, L.15, P.2 & O.16, S.8 & Y.11, V.9, V.22, W.14, X1 & X2, Y2

Plus, the standard OKF and 4 leaf combination with asymmetric spring seats.

NER Tender Springs & Axleboxes
3D printed tender springs and axleboxes sponsored by Dave Bradwell and produced from his research and drawings. Each set comes as a pack of 6 and the axleboxes are slotted for sprung suspensions. They are designed to be robust enough not to break in the process of fitting.
There are two types. The first is for the Q6s (LF.01A – £6) which is also suitable for the J27s. It has a standard NER axlebox and is as per the preserved Q6 and J27. The second is for the J21 (LF.01B – £6). This has a longer NER axlebox which was found on some passenger classes and is as per the preserved J21.

GWR Early Freight Bogies with HD Journals
At Scalefourm in 2025 someone pointed out that if I combined my 3D printed GWR early bogie sideframe without the top angle and the GWR HD journal I would get the type that was fitted under the bogie loco coal wagons (as produced by Cambrian) as well as some early crocodiles. So, this is what I’ve done, and it has been added to the range (PG.03C – £14).
Retooled/Reintroduced Items
The following items have been reintroduced to the range:
- B.26 Morton brake Sand Tippler underframe – £11
Replacement Anchor mount tank wagon underframe parts for use with B.71. These are while stocks last.
- B.72 RCH Axleguards – early 13/14T wagons – £3
- B.73 BR plate axleguards – late 15T wagons – £3
- B.74 RCH HD axleguards – early 20T wagons – £3
Finally, my screw couplings (B.96 – £2) have been retooled and as a result, the price has gone down. There are 2 pairs on the fret, and they are etched in Nickel Silver.
Exhibitions for 2026
Rumney Models will be appearing at Scalefour Crewe (6/7th June) and Scalefourm (19/20th September) in 2026. I hope to see some of you later in the year.
Coming Soon
A chassis kit for the Hornby SR 700 class will be along soon and possibly Presflo underframes. If I can summon up the enthusiasm to wade through the instructions or Accura******** or Ellis Clark trains haven’t released a new RTR model and rendered the whole thing semi-pointless.
